Find Your Community At Western

As part of your orientation and transition process, before you arrive on campus is a great time to consider how you want to spend your time outside of the classroom. You may have heard more about the importance of building community and having a sense of belonging to the University – feeling welcome, respected, included, connected.

That sense of connection and belonging can play a powerful role in building healthy and supportive relationships, supporting your personal development in knowing and growing in who you are, achieving your academic objectives, and positively impacting your mental, physical, and emotional health.

Love music, recreation, dance, or team sports? Interested in social justice, activism, or student government? Looking for other folks who share identities, spiritual/religious beliefs, or cultural celebrations? Whatever you’re looking for, you are likely to find it at Western in the form of a club, organization, team, resource office, or academic group.

Let us know if you need help finding, connecting to, and creating a great community for you!
