Welcome from the Graduate School

On behalf of the Graduate School, welcome to Western!

We’re thrilled to have you here. You will soon discover what a special place this is, home to an exceptional community of learners and scholars. Over the coming years I hope you take full advantage of everything Western has to offer.

A Western education balances breadth of experience with in-depth study preparing you for lifelong learning. After graduation, many students continue their studies in graduate and professional programs here and at universities around the world.

As you begin to find your footing, I encourage you to keep your eyes on the horizon. Engage with your professors or reach out to our office to learn more about future opportunities for advanced study at the graduate level, and steps you can take along the way to prepare.

Welcome, and congratulations.

David L. Patrick
Dean of the Graduate School
